CLUB HISTORY

Coppell FC was formed in 2011 by Coppell Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) and consisted of 2 select teams at its inception. Nadim Shabout, our Director of Coaching, was one of the original coaches for Coppell FC with his ‘97 Boys team.

In 2013, CYSA added its academy program for ages U7-U10 (formerly Coppell Academy). The academy program was started and grown by Coach Jon Davies and George Williams, who are still coaching with the club.

In 2023, Coppell FC has successfully grown to 20 academy age teams and 15 select teams, with 16 professional coaches and nearly 480 players. The club’s growth has been steady, with a huge player retention rate due to our fantastic coaches and adherence to the main tenant of our club philosophy - player development. We are proud to boast that we are a community based club that cares about each and every player.

Coppell FC is run by our Club Director, Jon Davies, and Director of Coaching, Nadim Shabout, who are hired and overseen by CYSA’s Board of Directors. As such, the club is a true non-profit organization. It was founded on the principal of charging minimal fees so that players do not have to “pay to play” to grow and develop and compete in North Texas.
